Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is a bushy, deciduous, small tree with deep red-purple leaves, turning redder in autumn and falling off in winter. Small purple flowers are followed by red fruits in spring and summer. One of the best and most popular purple-leaved Japanese maples. Can grow to a max of 3-4 metres tall.
Plant in a semi-shaded area protected from the wind in acid or neutral soil.
